The Cuban missile crisis is generally known to be an intelligence failure, which marks the 56th anniversary this year as the most studied events of the nuclear age. However, it should not be ignored that the Cuban missile crisis actually served as a prime example of the significance of the photointelligence as a management option in time of an international crisis. In time of the crisis, Kennedy followed President Eisenhower’s strategy of applying photointelligence and due to so, Americans suffered less interest in the crisis.
